I'm hopelessly between sizes and wide never seems wide enough with commercial shoes. I recently discovered the joys of barefoot/foot shaped shoes, learning everything I can (thank you 'Anya's Reviews') and I'm replacing everything after all these years of shoe misery. These are the most comfortable slip-ons I've ever had on my boxy feet. The leather is very supple, interiors smooth and the soles are barefoot thin, just fine out on a trek, in the yard or at the store. The best feature for me is all the room for toes - not only width but height - fabulous. They do not arrive flattened out. There is no heel slipping and the rubber soles are quite grippy. My length is 24.3cm and width is 10cm. I ordered 8XWide and there's extra width to spare so for my second pair - the gold - I'll give the wide a try. The light nude color doesn't seem to attract any dirt so I'll wear them everywhere without concern!
